FamilyTree is a self-contained data base containing all known information about our recent family. It includes all required data folders.
How do I install FamilyTree?
- Return to the Download Page, click "Download" - Be patient while download takes place. It may take several minutes.
- Locate the downloaded ZIP file, which is represented by a single file called "Revolution.zip".
Depending on your Computer, Operating System and Browser Preferences, it may be on the deskTop, in the Downloads Folder, in the Documents Folder, etc.
- Unzip the downloaded file. Depending on your computer, your Operating System and your Preferences, a double-click will normally launch the unZip function.
If you have an Apple Mac computer, the unzip function is usually executed automatically at the end of the download.
If no UnZip application is apparent on your computer, you may download the Stuffit Expander which will do the job admirably.
Stuffit Expander exists for Mac and PC platforms.
- If this is the first download of the series, move the downloaded Revolution folder to the root of your Systems disk.
If this is not the first download, the Revolution folder has previously been created. Open the unzipped folder Revolution, and move the contents into the existing
Revolution folder on your systems disk. Folders and files relevant to the FamilyTree program will be established on your computer, but there are quite a few ....... !
